Die Supermarktkette RIMI Baltic ist Teil dieser Gruppe. In den 2020er Jahren hat RIMI seine CO2-Emissionen um 50 % reduziert und den Stromverbrauch pro Quadratmeter um 34 % gesenkt. RIMI hat diese außergewöhnlichen Werte im Wesentlichen durch zwei Maßnahmen erreicht: Zum einen durch die Umstellung auf umweltfreundliche Supermärkte und Kühlanlagen, zum anderen durch die Nutzung von Ökostrom.
Allein in den letzten fünf Jahren hat RIMI Baltic die CO2-Emissionen um das 60-fache gesenkt. Aber die Pläne reichen noch weiter. Bis 2030 will das Unternehmen keine Treibhausgasemissionen mehr zu verursachen und selbst grüne Energie zu erzeugen.
Seit 2014 stattet die Supermarktkette RIMI alle neu errichteten und modernisierten Filialen mit CO2-Kühlsystemen aus. So erhöht die Kette ihre Energieeffizienz und senkt seinen negativen Einfluss auf das Klima um das 400-fache.
Die RIMI-Kette arbeitet mit Lieferanten zusammen, die gleichfalls hohe Klimaschutzziele haben und deren Umsetzung wissenschaftlich fundiert belegen.
