The first supermarket equipped with NDL PLUTON SPACE semi vertical

2023-11-09

FREOR has been partnering with Lithuanian supermarket chains for many years. We are proud to have earned their respect and trust as a reliable commercial refrigeration equipment provider over time.

FREOR NEW DESIGN LINE commercial refrigeration equipment

One of our longstanding partners is the IKI supermarket chain, owned by one of the largest European retailers, REWE. The chain has been placing its trust in FREOR for over a decade now. They were the first store to implement one of FREOR’s NEW DESIGN LINE refrigeration equipment – NDL PLUTON SPACE, which is a testament to their continued belief in FREOR cooling solutions.

NEW DESIGN LINE refrigeration equipment

IKI chain began redesigning its supermarket concept this year, aiming to provide a more intuitive and comfortable shopping experience for its customers. For their first newly refurbished store, the chain chose FREOR refrigeration equipment, including the NEW DESIGN LINE semi verticals NDL PLUTON SPACE, which was just recently introduced but worked excellently for the supermarket’s new concept.

NDL PLUTON SPACE features a modern design of straight lines and sharp corners that complements the renewed IKI store design and other implemented commercial refrigeration equipment excellently. Its broad and comfortable product reach ensures a comfortable shopping experience. At the same time, its medium height provides a full view of the store at the customers’ eye level, creating an easy-to-navigate store layout, which was one of the main goals of the new IKI concept.

Environment friendly and energy-efficient refrigeration solutions

The newly reopened IKI store features many environment-friendly and energy-efficient solutions, including Green Wave commercial refrigeration equipment, which operates on sustainable R290 and CO2 (R744) refrigerants that are up to 30 % more energy efficient than HFC cooling systems.

FREOR NEW DESIGN LINE commercial refrigeration equipment

The store of 1,582 m2 was implemented with FREOR multidecks JUPITER and freezers ERIDA featuring glass doors for better energy consumption, serve-overs VEGA SPACE QB LG / HG and ELISA VISION QB, self-service counters IDA S with glass lids, for energy savings of up to 50% and IDA S H1. Additionally, NDL PLUTON SPACE has been also installed with frameless glass doors, providing excellent product visibility and better energy efficiency.
