Continuous Cooling technology is an innovative and energy-efficient solution for temperature control in refrigeration equipment. It reduces significant energy losses by replacing the traditional on-and-off compressor, which works in cycles, with an inverter compressor and advanced controller. This helps maintain steady temperatures in commercial refrigeration equipment, ensuring significant energy savings.
Improving Traditional Approaches in Refrigeration
FREOR constantly looks for ways to improve traditional approaches and make refrigeration equipment more energy efficient. The traditional compressor used in refrigeration systems works in cycles: it is switched off at the lowest allowable temperature until the temperature rises to the high set point. Then, the highest set point is reached, and the compressor switches on. That type of control system results in large temperature fluctuations involving significant energy losses from the working of the motor. FREOR changes that by replacing the traditional compressors with an inverter compressor and advanced controller.
Enhanced Efficiency Thanks to the Advanced Algorithm
The efficiency of refrigeration can be improved by replacing the traditional on-and-off compressor with an inverter compressor and advanced controller. This setup adjusts the compressor’s speed based on the temperature inside the equipment, thus maintaining a steady temperature in the refrigerator. Unlike the traditional system, evaporation happens continuously, and only the capacity varies. The advanced algorithm in the controller defines the compressor parameters and operating modes for the inverter compressor and other components, allowing the controller to optimize temperature control and minimize temperature fluctuations.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY RESULTS FROM THE FREOR LABORATORY
Continuous Cooling technology has been tested in FREOR’s laboratory, which complies with the global standard for refrigerated display cabinets – ISO 23953. The tests were performed on commercial refrigeration equipment operating at different temperature ranges, including equipment with and without glass doors.
The tests, conducted in an environment with 25°C temperature and 60% humidity, indicated that the technology can save approximately 50% of energy. The results showed that the temperature fluctuations in the equipment were not more than 0.5°C, demonstrating excellent food preservation due to the temperature stability. Keep in mind that the outcomes may vary depending on the environmental conditions.
