Energy-efficient Attributes of the JUPITER Multideck

The standard multideck JUPITER model features:

• Double Air Curtain – this is a unique airflow management system that minimizes temperature differences in the refrigeration equipment to reduce energy consumption; it can achieve energy savings of about 20%.
• Advanced electronic temperature controller with a digital display, to ensure optimal operation of refrigeration equipment, keeping product temperature constant and thus saving even more energy.
• Electronically commutated fans which adjust their speed for current needs instead of running at a fixed level, for energy savings of up to 30% compared to traditional fans.
• CFC-free polyurethane thermal insulation on the body of the equipment reduces the energy needed to maintain refrigeration inside, for more efficiency and sustainability.
• LED lighting, which consumes up to 83% less energy than traditional lighting, has a longer life span, and also induces less heat, so less energy is needed to keep products at the right temperature.

These additional options can be added to JUPITER equipment at any time for even better energy efficiency:

• Glass doors. They reduce the energy needed to maintain the right temperature inside by up to 75% compared to an open multideck.
• Front glass packets. They prevent cold air from escaping and so can result in energy savings of up to another 15% on open JUPITER cabinets.
• Night curtains. With these, less cold air escapes from open cabinets during the night, so the refrigeration equipment needs less effort to keep itself cold, and that can significantly reduce a supermarket’s electricity bills.

Solutions Installed at Penny Market Stores in Hungary

FREOR handled JUPITER multideck cooling projects for new stores of the Penny Market chain in the towns of Jászárokszállás and Biatorbágy.

For top energy efficiency, one of the stores chose additional glass doors for their JUPITER counters. The other store opted for extra front glass packets and night curtains to conserve more energy while going with an open JUPITER multideck to support increased sales.
