Z powodu obowiązywania surowszych przepisów dotyczących gazów fluorowanych ze względu na ich wpływ na globalne ocieplenie, sieci handlowe są zmuszone do poszukiwania nowych, bezpiecznych, przyszłościowych rozwiązań dla lodówek sklepowych. Green Wave CO2 to linia nieautonomicznych produktów, dostosowanych do pracy za pomocą czynnika chłodniczego CO2 (R744) w centralnym układzie chłodzenia. CO2 to ekologiczny czynnik chłodniczy, który po przedostaniu się do środowiska nie ma negatywnego wpływu na globalne ocieplenie.
