Sie entschied sich für das halbhohe, steckerfertige Kühlregal MERCURY. Mit seinem breiten Temperaturbereich eignet es sich bestens für die Bereitstellung unterschiedlichster Kühlwaren. Mit seinen Glastüren, seinen elektronisch gesteuerten Venilatoren und seiner LED-Beleuchtung ist das Kühlregal MERCURY zudem sehr energieeffizient.
MERCURY ist Teil der Green Wave R290-Serie von FREOR. Alle Modelle dieser Reihe verwenden das natürliche Kältemittel Propan (R290). Dieses Gas ist eines der klimafreundlichsten und kosteneffizientesten Kältemittel am Markt. Kühlmöbel, die mit ihm betrieben werden, sparen bis zu 30 % mehr Energie als HFKW/HFO-Systeme.
Das Kältemittel ist ungiftig. Es hat keine Auswirkungen auf die Ozonschicht, und sein sehr niedriges Treibhauspotenzial (GWP) liegt bei 3.
Laut Verordnung der Europäischen Kommission muss der Einsatz klimaschädlicher Kältemittel schrittweise reduziert werden. Ein detailliert festgelegter Zeitplan sieht vor, die F-Gase-Quote bis 2024 auf fast 24 % zu senken. Supermärkte sehen sich damit vor der Aufgabe, ihre Kühlstrategie zu ändern und auf klimafreundliche Kältemittel umzusteigen.
