FREOR will be exhibiting its propane-operated green refrigeration equipment and its water-loop technology in Japan for the first time, at the Japan’s Supermarket Tradeshow which is held in Tokyo on 13-15 February.
FREOR has partnered with the respected in the field of industrial and commercial refrigeration local company Nihon Netsugen Systems, which has been a leader in introducing green CO2 supermarket cooling systems to Japan. The company is also a producer of natural-refrigerant based ammonia and propane chiller and heat pump systems. The two companies share the same goal of providing the food retailers with natural and energy-efficient refrigeration solutions to replace high-GWP HFCs usage.
As a result of international Kigali Amendment, actions to gradually reduce the use of ozone-depleting HFCs have been started sector by sector in most countries, as well as in Japan. To comply with the global and domestic regulations on HFCs usage, retailers in Japan feel a necessity to change currently prevalent refrigerants to the ones with smaller GWP.
Following the growing interest in natural refrigerant systems for retail stores in Japan, in the coming SMTS 2019 event the two companies will jointly exhibit FREOR Green Wave R290 refrigeration equipment and water-loop technology branded as Hydroloop Refrigeration System.
There will be autonomous R290-based refrigerated display counters, cabinets, upright freezers showcased at the stand. FREOR‘s energy efficient and ecological Hydroloop System, using propane refrigerators in tandem with a glycol loop, will be presented at the booth as a future-proof alternative solution for smaller stores in Japan following HFC regulations. In addition to being sustainable, this system allows stores to save energy.
“There is no Planet B“ will be our motto at the booth, and it is to raise awareness of the importance of caring for the environment. New green refrigeration technologies can significantly reduce the carbon footprint of an installation and help reduce global warming.
Considering a stable sales growth of propane-based refrigeration systems in recent years among Western Europe and Nordic regions, there is a robust prediction of R290 solutions success in the Japanese market as well.
