New Sales Location for FREOR Refrigeration Equipment: Auckland, New Zealand!

FREOR commercial refrigeration equipment has already been implemented in 55 countries worldwide, and our sales map was recently filled with one more new location – this time, our refrigeration equipment has reached one of the top 10 biggest islands in the world – New Zealand.

FREOR, with the help of our sales and maintenance partner in the country Frigie King, traveled to the biggest city of the country – Auckland, located on New Zealand’s North Island, where FREOR commercial refrigeration equipment was implemented in the recently restored Smart Supermarket.

Sustainable Cooling Solutions in One of the Greenest Countries

New Zealand is considered one of the greenest countries in the world. With the country’s goal for all greenhouse gases except for biogenic methane – methane from agriculture and waste – to reach net zero by 2050, FREOR was delighted that the Smart Supermarket chose FREOR environmentally friendly cooling solutions so we could contribute together to this big goal.

The supermarket chose Hydroloop Hybrid cooling system for its commercial refrigeration equipment, which operates with natural propane (R290) gas refrigerant, featuring a global warming potential (GWP) of just 3.

Hydroloop cooling systems from FREOR recently started gaining even more recognition from clients while considering environmentally friendly cooling solutions. Using one of the most sustainable refrigerants, R290, the system also features an extra low refrigerant charge and a very low leakage rate, reducing environmental impact.

The Smart Supermarket’s chosen Hydroloop Hybrid system allows combining two different heat removal systems with the possibility to switch over between emitting the heat directly into the shop via an air condenser mounted in the equipment (in the winter) or removing it from the shop via glycol line to the outside (in the summer). Reusing the excess condensation heat to warm up the shop and energy-efficient compressors in the system can save up to 25 % of the supermarket’s energy, making it a sustainable and energy-efficient cooling solution.

Implemented Commercial Refrigeration Equipment

The Smart Supermarket was looking for flexible cooling equipment suitable for various products.

The store employed JUPITER multidecks, consisting of more than 46 meters in length around the store, for the majority of the fresh product display. The store chose two versions of a multideck chiller – with glass doors for better energy efficiency and an open version – for a high sales turnover.

Serve-over counters VEGA SPACE QB HG with an enlarger exposition area were implemented to create a visually appealing presentation for the fresh meat display.

FREOR implemented horizontal freezers LEDA with endcases arranged into 16 meters long islands in total for the presentation of frozen goods and ice cream. The encases can be used to display special promos to enhance merchandising.

All implemented commercial refrigeration equipment in the Smart Supermarket is from FREOR R290 & CO₂ World line.
