In a bold step towards enhancing sustainability and operational efficiency, PLUS Supermarket in the Netherlands has been implementing FREOR commercial refrigeration equipment across its stores. This strategic move aligns with PLUS Supermarket’s commitment to environmental friendliness and excellent customer experience. This year, FREOR and its partner Koelservice Van Tol have so far equipped 2 PLUS stores with innovative refrigeration solutions.
To showcase frozen products, ERIDA upright freezers were implemented next to the wall to save space. Freezer islands LEDA RV were also implemented in the supermarkets with red color detail to put attention on the discounted products showcased in the endcase of the island. Since FREOR offers a wide choice of colors for the exterior and interior from the RAL palette, it is easy to create unique and eye-catching solutions in any supermarket.

The PLUS supermarket requested a modified version of our standard JUPITER multideck to showcase fresh products. We manufactured JUPITER LOW FRONT multidecks according to their request, demonstrating our flexibility to meet unique client needs.
VEGA QB H1 and VEGA QB H2 a multi-level self-service counters are strategically placed around the store to display all kinds of fresh products. Unlike standard models with only one or two shelves, these counters feature additional levels, enabling a structured and visually appealing presentation that maximizes product visibility and simplifies customer selection, particularly in smaller stores like PLUS supermarkets.
In its commitment to becoming an environmentally conscious business and reducing operational costs, PLUS supermarket has chosen the FREOR Hydroloop Glycol cooling system, which operates on natural propane (R290) refrigerant. R290 is not only a sustainable and future-friendly choice but also highly energy-efficient.
The Hydroloop Glycol system allows the excess heat generated during the cooling process to be reused to heat the store or water, further lowering operational costs. With this innovative system, PLUS supermarket not only enhances its energy efficiency but also showcases its dedication to sustainable practices, leading the way for a greener future in retail.
