Litauische Einzelhändler entscheiden sich zunehmend für die Einführung sogenannter grüner Lösungen in ihr Unternehmen. Eines dieser Unternehmen ist die RIMI Lietuva. Als Mitglied der RIMI Baltic Group gehört es zur ICA Group, einer der größten Einzelhändler in Nordeuropa. In den letzten Jahren wurden in Litauen eine Reihe neuer Supermärkte eröffnet, die energieeffiziente und umweltfreundliche Lösungen nutzen.
Im nördlichen Teil von Vilnius wurde ein HYPER RIMI Markt auf 1.722 qm² vergrößert. Seit seiner Wiedereröffnung gilt dieser Markt und sein Konzept als Wegbereiter für grüne, energiesparende Einzelhandelsformate. Bemerkenswert sind ein LED-Beleuchtungssystem mit Bewegungssensoren und ein transkritisches Booster-Kühlsystem auf der Basis des natürlichen Kältemittels CO₂, das überschüssige Wärme für Wasser und Raumheizung nutzt. Das Einkaufszentrum spart auf diese Weise 20% seines Stroms. Zudem braucht es keine zentrale Wärmeversorgung. Der FREOR-Beitrag zu diesem zukunftsorientierten Marktkonzept sind Kühlmöbel, die ausschließlich mit CO₂ betrieben werden.
FREOR konzentriert sich seit geraumer Zeit auf umweltfreundliche und energieeffiziente Lösungen. Das Unternehmen hat dafür eigene Produktlinien entwickelt. Eine von ihnen heißt Green Wave CO₂. Sie bringt das natürliche Kältemittel R744 (CO₂) für Verbundanlagen zum Einsatz. Kohlendioxid ist ein Gas, das industriell aus der Luft gewonnen wird und daher keine negativen Auswirkungen auf die Umwelt und die globale Erderwärmung hat. Es hat das niedrigste Treibhauspotenzial (GWP=1). Damit unterscheidet es sich grundlegend von den H-FKWs, die in der gewerblichen Kälte noch weit verbreitet sind und nach wie vor in erheblichem Maße zur globalen Erderwärmung beitragen.
Im HYPER RIMI wurden folgende Kühlmöbel der Green Wave CO₂-Linie installiert: JUPITER Kühlregale mit Schiebetüren; JUPITER Backloader zum rückseitigen Nachfüllen aus dem angrenzenden Kühlraum; VEGA QB als SB- und Bedientheken; die halbhohen Kühlregale PLUTON im Inselaufbau. In der Tiefkühlabteilung kommen die TK-Insel HELLA und das Modell DELTA als TK-Kombi aus Schrank und Truhe zum Einsatz. Temperaturoptimierte Doppelluftschleier, LEDs als sparsame Beleuchtungsvariante und automatisierte Türschließsysteme leisten ihren Beitrag zu einem effizienten Umgang mit Energie. Damit ergänzt das FREOR-Sortiment perfekt das umweltbewusste Marktkonzept der RIMI-Geschäftsführung.
Die Nachfrage nach ökologischen Kühlsystemen ist auch auf osteuropäischen Märkten steigend – und dies trotz der höheren Installationskosten. Gründe für die zunehmende Beliebtheit von CO₂-Kühlsystemen sind der wirtschaftliche Folgenutzen: Die Abwärme, die während des Kühlprozesses entsteht, kann verwendet werden, um Strom zu erzeugen, Verkaufsflächen zu beheizen oder zu kühlen und Wasser zu erhitzen. So werden auf lange Sicht die Betriebskosten in den Filialen deutlich gesenkt. Eine zunehmende Unabhängigkeit von externen Versorgungsunternehmen ist die Folge.
Ziel der neuen F-Gase-Verordnung ist die schrittweise Reduzierung fluorierter Treibhausgase. F-Gase mit einem hohen GWP-Wert werden schon in naher Zukunft verboten. Das betrifft auch den Einsatz der immer noch weit verbreiteten H-FKW-Kältemittel. Auch vor diesem Hintergrund wächst das Interesse vieler Unternehmen an einem Umstieg auf ökologische Alternativen.
